How PonytackNkids started
It was the beginning of winter 07 and the thought of mucking out 10 ponies every morning in the cold and rain was starting to get me down! Sophie & George were getting fed up too.
So it started me thinking what could i do which would keep Sophie, George and Myself in the dry and warm but still around the ponies. A website for ponies, boys and girls!!
But what would I sell it was endless and everyone else was doing it already. Then one morning after as I turned out my daughters ponies and the mud went over their nice clean tails, I thought right it’s no good they need tails bags, so went on the web and had a look around, a bit expensive, money was tight at the time, what could I do. | |
Sadly we lost Dollie on the 29th April 09 (shown here with my daughter Sophie) She was an inspration to the start of Ponytacknkids and is deeply missed.
Dollie & Snowy with Sophie and George on board with me looking very silly in the middle, thankfully we won the fancy dress class so it was worth it!!

Make one!! So it all went from there, and I started making my own tail bags for the ponies, the very first one I made was out of an old jacket sleeve sewed up at the under arm with a bit of elastic at the cuff!! Then it started I couldn’t stop and with a bit of help from my friend Tracy who had a sewing machine!! We started making everything!! Reversible saddle covers, bucket covers, child safety handles, grooming gloves and hoods with ears. Right it was time to get a website so I contacted a good friend who makes websites and off we went. I then contacted a few companies and asked if I could sell their products too!! I was getting very excited, had given up doing other peoples ponies and just had my daughters ponies to do it was great. I was now spending more time indoors on the phone talking to horsey companies and all the ideas were flooding in for PonytackNkids.co.uk PonytackNkids is also mobile so look out for me around local shows in Essex.
